MMRC: Employer and Student registrations are open!

Are you seeking your next hire? For over 15 years, TCDIP has organized the Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference (MMRC) to connect legal employers in the Twin Cities metro area with rising 2L and 3L students of color from across the country. MMRC will connect employers with law students who are seeking summer positions for 2022 or post-graduation employment.

On August 6, 2021, legal employers will connect virtually with pre-screened candidates. The main event is a full day of 20 minute formal interviews. All employers are invited to participate, including small, medium, and large firms; corporate law departments; and public interest, nonprofit, and government entities. Register today!

Share our WILD project! Assisting with the investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department

The Wanton Injustice Legal Detail (WILD) is currently assisting with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department. WILD – the Wanton Injustice Legal Detail – was founded to harness the collective power of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice’s membership to remedy systemic anti-Black racism in the Twin Cities by partnering with and amplifying the work of existing community organizations. WILD is helping to gather information for the Minnesota Department of Human Rights investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department. WILD Volunteers are ready to assist with this project by interviewing members of the public and helping them submit their stories to the MDHR investigation. We need your help getting the word out!

Please download our flyer in English and Spanish as well as our social media graphics in English (graphic 1, graphic 2) and Spanish (graphic 1graphic 2) and share broadly with organizations who can help spread the word. If you have questions about the project, please reach out to events@diversityinpractice.org.

TCDIP 1L Clerks: Seeking Mentors

Are you an attorney with 0-8 years of experience interested in mentoring a 1L Clerk this summer? We are looking forward to welcoming our incoming class of 1L Clerks! We pair each 1L Clerk with an mentor from an organization outside their employer so that our 1L Clerks can gain broader exposure to the Twin Cities legal community. We’ve found in the past that it’s great for 1L Clerks to have a mentor that they can ask “sticky” questions and who can answer these questions honestly. Our expectation is that mentors will meet with 1L Clerks at least twice throughout the summer (including virtual meetings). If you are interested in mentoring a 1L Clerk this summer, please fill out this form.
