Members of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) believe that diverse workplaces benefit all of us.
We believe in attracting and recruiting top talent in a market rich with opportunities, whether you are a recent graduate looking to jumpstart your career or a practicing attorney looking to continue building your practice. TCDIP creates opportunities for attorneys of color to advance their careers by building important relationships with each other through networking, mentoring, social events, and TCDIP 1L Clerkship programming. We know that careers succeed when individuals have access to and robust relationships with decision makers.
TCDIP Member Organizations also understand that to retain and advance attorneys of color we must engage in organizational programming not only to generate awareness of racial bias, but to actively work to reduce it, with the goal of creating more inclusive workplaces.
From Our Members
TCDIP has helped Maslon meet a talented group of law students of color, which has in
turn led to more diverse classes of summer associates and incoming Maslon attorneys. Diversity alone—without inclusion—is insufficient, and TCDIP programming also challenges our thinking about the “way we do things” at Maslon, which helps us to be mindful of opportunities to become a more inclusive place to work and practice law.
TCDIP is the central organization in the Twin Cities which serves to connect attorneys of
color and other diverse attorneys across our various organizations. TCDIP has helped me
branch out from the Minnesota Lavender Bar Association and the Minnesota American
Indian Bar Association and meet attorneys of color across a variety of groups, firms, and
legal departments—which has led me to feel like I have a strong network of supportive
colleagues throughout the Cities. ”
