Thank you to our outgoing Board Secretary, Jennifer Miernicki!
We are incredibly grateful to Jen Miernicki for her many years as our TCDIP Board Secretary and Assistant Secretary. As Jen passes the baton to Scholastica Baker, we asked her about the highlights of her time in this role. Read more from Jen at our website!
“Serving on the TCDIP Board means leaders show up and invest in hard work and hard questions. TCDIP (and its Board) has grown tremendously over the last few years, and leaders at the highest level of some of the Twin Cities’ most influential companies make a point of not just attending meetings, but actively discussing substantive issues and challenging themselves and each other to improve. Over the years, discussions have become more targeted and frank, which has been a catalyst for greater momentum and impact by TCDIP.”
March 23, 9:00 AM: Authentic Diversity: How to Build an Inclusive Workplace with Michelle Silverthorn
Our world has changed. The moment is here for real progress on diversity and inclusion, to take the transformed workplace and the transformed globe and create a new paradigm for equity and justice. The calls are loud. Are you ready to answer them?
Join Michelle Silverthorn in an engaging, interactive virtual program that will shift your understanding on the challenges for inclusion in the workplace, and take up her call to action for every individual to build spaces of authentic diversity for all.
During the program, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of:
- The central role unconscious bias and its attendant challenges, microaggressions, and stereotypes, play in interrupting our journey to inclusion.
- 10 rules to make inclusion a reality for everyone in an organization.
- How to design spaces of authenticity and belonging, where everyone is welcome to rise, thrive, and succeed.
This program is open to legal professionals at TCDIP Member Organizations. TCDIP will apply for CLE credit in Minnesota. Register today!
March 31, 12:00 PM: In Focus: A Trial and Minnesota’s Search for Equity and Healing
Minnesota will be back in the spotlight during the trial, but this is only part of the story. Floyd’s killing last May also led to renewed efforts toward racial equity—in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, businesses and many other institutions. How are we doing on our path toward racial equity? How are Black people, Indigenous people, people of color and their white counterparts navigating conversations about the trial and its broader implications for racial justice in a state known for its persistent racial disparities?
Join TCDIP and MPR on March 31 at noon, as host Angela Davis will lead the next In Focus conversation on how we as Minnesotans are experiencing the trial and how we can move forward as neighbors.
Register today for the In Focus program on March 31
You can also find more resources for navigating the Chauvin trial at our website.
