Join us for the TCDIP Summer Alliance on July 13 at 5:30 PM! Refresh your summer and meet fellow attorneys of color and allies. Throughout the Twin Cities, leaders will host small groups outdoors. When you visit our registration page you’ll see various locations throughout the Twin Cities. Pick a location convenient to you, and we will contact attendees with an exact address for each location prior to July 13! Please share this invitation with your friends and colleagues! Our Summer Alliance is open to all.
July 15, 5:00: Minority Judges Reception
Chief Judge John R. Tunheim, Judge Wilhelmina M. Wright, Judge Michael J. Davis and the Judges of the District of Minnesota invite you to join them in honoring our minority judges in the Minnesota State and Federal Courts at a reception on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. to be held at the Diana E. Murphy United States Courthouse Outdoor Plaza (300 South 4th Street, Minneapolis, MN). A group picture will be taken at 6:00 p.m.

July 15, 9:00 AM: 25th Annual MAIBA Scholarship Golf Tournament
Join the Minnesota American Indian Bar Association for their Annual Golf Tournament! All proceeds from the golf tournament support the MAIBA Scholarship Fund. Each year, MAIBA awards one or more scholarships to an American Indian student or students attending one of the three Minnesota law schools. This Week’s 1L Clerk Spotlight:
Maya Sanaba
Maya works as a summer associate at Lathrop GPM LLP in Minneapolis, MN. Starting July 12th, she will be working at CHS, one of the firm’s corporate clients. Maya is pursuing a J.D. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law, and she plans to move to Minneapolis after graduating because she loves going up north and being outdoors! At the firm, she is most interested in Business Transactions and Trusts & Estates Litigation.
Maya graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN with a bachelor’s in Communication and a minor in Classical Studies. She was born in Louisville, KY and moved to Bangalore, India with her family when she was 11. Maya moved back to the US with her family two weeks before starting college at Purdue.
At Iowa Law, Maya started the school’s South Asian Law Students Association chapter and will serve as its President this coming fall, and as a 2L representative on the Iowa Student Bar Association.
