Welcome to our incoming Assistant Secretary, Demetria Dyer! Read more about why Demetria got involved with TCDIP below.

Why did you first get involved with TCDIP? I got involved with TCDIP for three reasons. I wanted to build my network with attorneys of color. I wanted to learn how to lead from experienced attorneys. And most importantly, I wanted the opportunity to serve and help the Twin Cities legal community be a place where all attorneys can thrive.

How do you hope TCDIP will grow during your term as a Assistant Secretary? I hope TCDIP will continue to expand its efforts to combat racism in Minnesota. I am confident that working to make Minnesota an equitable and just place for all of its residents will positively impact TCDIP’s mission to recruit, retain, advance, and attract attorneys of color.

What is your favorite TCDIP event or program? The Minnesota Minority Recruitment Conference is my favorite event. I know firsthand from participating in this conference in law school just how vital it can be in launching the careers of our future diverse attorneys.

What does TCDIP mean to your organization? TCDIP and its mission are uniquely important to my organization. At Sapientia, diversity and inclusion is not only an initiative. It is the bedrock of our firm. Being a part of TCDIP is one of the tools we use to advance our mission of maintaining a diverse and welcoming workplace.
