June 21, 6:15 PM: Qualified Immunity with the Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission
Please join the Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission on June 21 from 6:15 pm to 6:45 pm for a presentation about qualified immunity by the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota. The presentation by Julia Decker will include an overview of qualified immunity and its structure at the municipal, state, and Federal levels. No registration is needed. This Week’s 1L Clerk Spotlight: Shiyi Zhang
Shiyi is working as a Twin Cities Diversity in Practice 1L Clerk at Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. in Minneapolis, MN. She will also be working with the corporate legal department at Wells Fargo in Minneapolis later this summer. She is currently interested in corporate law, health law, regulatory law, banking, and finance.
Shiyi is pursuing a J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, MO. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. degree in Government from Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA. Shiyi grew up in Beijing, China, and moved to Austin, MN with her family in 2013.
In law school, Shiyi serves as the Pro Bono Committee co-chair at the Public Service Advisory Board at Washington University School of Law. She also serves as the Vice President for Academics for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. She will be doing a judicial clerkship externship in spring 2022.
